Where is the guidebook to life?
Whoever said that things will get better says that only after things do get better. No one says it before, because before, everyone thinks it's only going to get worse.
Who said life has to be this hard?
Every day you wish it was better, every day you begin the day anew, that today is a brand new day, a brand new miracle. And you are hoping that today could be the day.
That it's a good day for miracle-making.
But then, at the end of the day, it doesn't get better. And you end up disappointing yourself, because you set yourself up that high. That you expect that something, just something special, could happen.
And you get scared. Because you don't know how long you can take this, how long this can last. And at the end of the day, it doesn't get better, and sleep becomes the draught which you wish you will never awaken from.
You turn to your dark side. It's a side you wish you never had; a side you wonder why it happens to you. It shouldn't be happening to you, you think to yourself. Not this way, this is not the way life is.
And the night gets a little longer and a little colder.
But nights end. As they are supposed to. The moon is queen only for awhile, and you get past it, with sleep, no matter how much or how little.
And as they say, tomorrow's a new day. And the sun shines again. And you begin to start that small spark again.
