dialoguehim: so have you read the readings?me: yeahh..him: it doesn't make sense! it doesn't link to the notes. everyone's killing everyone!me: yupz that's asia for you. just kill each other to rise to the top!him: *stunned*me: by the way, they're all in the notes too....him: this is a funny lecture!me: yeahh simon is uber lame.him: are you majoring in this?me: nope. i'm probably majoring in geog. wad modules are u taking?him: i'm from business so i'm taking marketing and another module.me: just 3? you're an exchange student? which country are you from?him: canada!me: ahh. well you sound canadian.him: i do? how can you tell?me: yeahh well u dun sound very american and i've a few friends in canada.him: thank god for that!me: so where are your parents originally from?him: you know where china is? they're from the southern part - guangdong. *mutters random cantonese*me: my grandparents are from fujian so i dun understand canto. you been back there?him: not since grade 12..etc.....him: so wads your name?me: jolenehim: i'm kevin, nice to meet youme: nice to meet you tooand so we conversed.our geog lec showed a picture of an NUS ad promoting NUS as a multi-cultural university with a snapshot of an LT filled with local asians interspersed with ang mohs and grinning away like crazy chesire cats. we all laughed saying it's absolute bollwocks since there aren't that many ang mohs in nus (those in the pic were probably all there were) and nus students do not grin like that in lec.but after jap lec on thurs,i beg to differ.iheartnus=)
