and just like that......farewell is over.had a great time preparing it though...got to bond with the trackers a lot.like we're one close knit group now.never felt so close in a team before...=)

yesterday didn't start off too well.for a start my mum dragged me outta bed to bid farewell to my aunt who was returning back to US at 4am in the morn and i had barely tumbled into bed at 2.30am!!!and i already said my farewells to her the nite before.oh wells,didn't mind tt much though since i won't get to see her again for the next few years?sigh...then had to drag myself outta bed at 8.45am to go mel's house to prepare for the party and i was already running late since i had to be there at ermx...9.when i finally reached,daryl was already hard at work on the comp doing the video.u know,i really really admire him...shall talk abt him later.

everything that could go wrong yesterday,did go wrong.URGH!it was a totally *pulls hair* time.the comp HUNG after ben and daryl had nearly perfected the video and they DIN'T SAVE IT!!!and it continued hanging a few more times after they restarted.i prayed so hard and i really really THANK GOD that the comp managed to retrieve back most of the data so their effort didn't go to waste.i mean...it's like THREE DAYS and NIGHTS WORK!then the throwers called to say they weren't coming and i was utterly crushed coz we really made painstaking effort to do their boards and source their photos.urgh.then the air-con broke down.like of ALL days it had to not work yesterday.omg.i really wanted to jump off her 4th storey.but throughout it all,i was surprisingly calm.seriously.if it had been me of sec 4,i would have stressed my guts out and prob blew my top.but yesterday,all i did was -pray.and God was faithful.the hall was still hot but at least it wasn't absolutely stuffling.and there were still 'chill' out rooms elsewhere in the house.and yong sheng came!so that was a pleasant surprise.=) anyway...the seniors...our friends...really appreciated it.was quite shocked when lance cried after the whole thing.i mean,we did expect some tears,but to come from him,and furthermore as the first person,haha...it was ermx...a lil surprising.but touching...didn't know how much the farewell could really touch them...and dawn also mentioned me when she talked...was quite surprised coz i dun really know her well,like she was only my jumps seniors for a year when i was a lil gal in sec 1 so i barely know her other than as a pro high jumper...and even coming to vj i've never really trained with her.but she told me to not give up and continue training hard...yeah man,totally psyched up,i'm gonna-qualify- for my long jump.oh yeah!

much effort went into doing the collages,like sourcing out all the photos through desperate means like callin the head of photog society.ah wells,that was a life saver!haha.was quite surprised when dex suddenly came into mel's room while we were preparing the song saying tt we will not give daox his.like ermx...after we spend how long doing u come and tell us now?!!actually i tot he was joking...but he wasn't.basis is coz 1 for all and all for 1 in the cross team.so no collage for daox.though we did it for him coz he was in the track comm.but oh wells,at least daox got his in the end.so effort not gone to waste. =)

it's great having a co-capt...like someone who can really share the full brunt of the responsibilities of track.working with daryl has been extremely frustrating at times but yet,i've gained much from it as well.and i'm really grateful of the guys we have in track coz they are just super helpful [alan went all the way home from siglap to yio chu kang and back to siglap just to get cable to connect the cam to the comp!!!] when it come to crunch time.throughout the whole farewell prep,daryl just kept saying 'girls are so troublesome!' whenever we had some new idea.though i was totally put off by his comments [anyway we retaliated with 'guys dun mind' comments when their collages messed up.haha.],but it's really thanks to him that our ides were kept in check and not too ambitious.even though the comp crashed,i tot he would give up long ago.but he didn't.even though he wasn't entirely for the idea of a farewell.yet he still persevered.and after everything was over...the 2 of us went up to mel's room and chatted for a while.and he turned to me and said 'jolene,you're right.it was worth it.' =) i was just...pleasantly surprised.never expected it coming from him...really.but i'm really glad he tot it was worth it coz i knew how much he loathed the whole preparations.oh wells.and then we chatted a bit abt our seniors before ben came bursting into the room and started apologising for intruding upon us.-__-""" but yeah...daryl has really really really been a great capt.=)
